14 Dead Because of Lightning In West Bengal

Kolkata: Something like 14 individuals were killed in lightning strikes in five areas of West Bengal which saw moderate precipitation on Thursday, authorities said.
Lightning strikes guaranteed four lives in Purba Bardhaman locale and two each in Murshidabad and North 24 Parganas, a catastrophe the executives division official said.
West Bengal police authorities said six additional passings were accounted for from Paschim Midnapore and Howrah Country areas.
“Three passings each were accounted for from Paschim Midnapore and Howrah country,” an authority said.
As per authorities, the casualties were generally ranchers who were struck by lightning while at the same time working in agrarian fields.
Rainstorms with lightning happened in a few south Bengal regions, including Kolkata, Howrah, North 24 Parganas, Purba Bardhaman and Murshidabad, on Thursday night.
