5 Suffocate Out in the open Tank Close to Chennai Sanctuary, Bodies Recuperated

Chennai: In a disastrous episode, five individuals suffocated in a public tank close to a sanctuary in Chennai today, police said.
The episode occurred around 10.30 am when fans of the Dharmalingeshwarar sanctuary in Nanganallur accumulated at the tank for customs as a feature of the panguni festivities.

“Initial one individual slipped, and in this way the people who attempted to safeguard them suffocated too. We examining turned out badly and assuming conventions were followed,” said Chennai Police Official Shankar Jiwal.

As per the police, each of the five bodies have been recuperated and a test into the matter is in progress.

Fire and salvage groups are proceeding with their inquiry tasks at the tank, Abhash Kumar, DGP, Fire and Salvage Administrations, told NDTV.

“Had they informed the police about the customs, this might have been deflected. It’s an unsalvageable misfortune,” said Tamil Nadu Clergyman for Rustic Ventures TM Anbarasan who visited the spot.

As per the police, each of the five who suffocated had a place with three distinct territories in Chennai.
