Akshay Kumar today, March 30, began shooting for Ram Setu. The actor also shared his look from the film and asked his fans about their opinion on the same. Akshay is playing an archaeologist in the film. The mahurat shot of Ram Setu was filmed in Ayodhya on March 18. The actor flew down to Ayodhya with Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushratt Bharuccha for the mahurat shot. Ram Setu is being directed by Abhishek Sharma.
AKSHAY KUMAR SHARES HIS LOOK FROM RAM SETU
Sharing his look from Ram Setu, Akshay Kumar today announced that he has begun shooting for the film. The actor asked fans what did they think about his look. He sports long hair in the film and also wears spectacles. Sharing the photo, Akshay wrote, “The journey of making one of the most special films for me begins today. #RamSetu shooting begins! Playing an archaeologist in the film. Would love to hear your thoughts on the look? It always matters to me (sic).”
AKSHAY KUMAR SAYS JAI SHRI RAM AT RAM SETU MAHURAT PUJA
Akshay Kumar shared a photo from the mahurat puja for Ram Setu. The puja was conducted in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, to kickstart the film. In the photo, priests can be seen conducting the puja with a photo of Lord Ram and Sita in front of them. A clapper board with Ram Setu written on it can also be seen in the photo. Sharing the photo, Akshay wrote, “Aaj Shri Ayoshya ji main film Ram Setu ke shubhaarambh par bhagwan Shri Ram ka aashirwaad prapt hua. Jai Shri Ram (Today, we got the blessings of Lord Ram as we kickstarted our film Ram Setu in Ayodhya) (sic).”

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, Ram Setu is being produced by Aruna Bhatia, Lyca Productions and Vikram Malhotra. In an earlier interview, Vikram Malhotra had said, “Ram Setu is a story formed on facts, science and historical heritage and is anchored in the deep belief of Indians since centuries. Today, as the younger generation grows curious about its heritage, there has never been a better time to tell stories anchored deep in the cultural fabric of our country.”
It seems the film is about the excavation of the popular Ram Setu in the epic Ramayan through which Lord Ram reached Lanka to rescue his wife Sita from Ravan.
