“All Gatherings Welcome”: Grapplers On #MeToo Dissent In Delhi Change Tack

New Delhi: India’s top grapplers have continued their dissent in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar against Wrestling Alliance of India (WFI) boss and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, blaming him for physically irritating a few competitors. The grapplers who canceled their dissent recently after confirmations that a board would test the claims say that they will stay at the dissent site till police document a protest against Brij Bhushan.

“We won’t accept anybody indiscriminately. Last time we were misdirected. We trust this time there is no governmental issues for this situation,” says Vinesh Phogat, the main Indian lady grappler to win gold at both the Ward and Asian Games.
The dissidents likewise said that this time they won’t turn down anybody, and whoever needs to help their dissent could come and go along with them. In January, the dissenters had demand passed on pioneer Vrinda Karat to leave the stage as it was an “competitors fight”.
