Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya said on Monday that he received threat calls from six Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leaders for speaking out against Maharashtra minister Dhananjay Munde over the alleged rape charges.

In a tweet on Monday, Kirit Somaiya said alleged six NCP leaders threatened to shoot him if he speaks against Dhananjay Munde.

Kirit Somaiya said, “‘Will shoot you if you speak against Maharashtra minister Dhananjay Munde’. Six NCP officials have threatened me. We are not afraid of such threats, Dhananjay Munde will have to resign.” Kirit Somaiya also tweeted a few clippings of news articles where he has alleged the same.

BJP leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya has written to the Election Commission, saying Dhananjay Munde did not mention his son and daughter from the relationship in his poll affidavit.

About a week ago, a woman accused Maharashtra Social Justice Minister Dhananjay Munde of rape and claimed the Mumbai police ignored her complaint.

Dhananjay Munder has, however, denied the allegations, claiming he is being blackmailed by the complainant and her sister. Dhananjay Munde said he had been in a relationship with the complainant’s sister and sired two children.

The 37-year-old woman, an aspiring singer, said she wrote to the Mumbai police commissioner on January 10, stating that Dhananjay Munde repeatedly raped her in 2006. She also claimed that she approached Oshiwara police here earlier but her complaint was not accepted.

Dhananjay Munde (45) said the woman’s claims were part of a conspiracy to blackmail him.

Later, BJP leader Krishna Hegde claimed that the woman had been harassing him for several years. An MNS politician, too, has made similar allegations against her.

Krishna Hegde alleged that the woman who accused Dhananjay Munde, had also tried to honey trap, blackmail and extort money from him. Writing a letter to the police, Hegde said that the woman had been calling and messaging him since 2010 and “coaxing” him to have a relationship with her.
