The boat has witnessed a meteoric rise in the Indian audio space over a brief period of time and the factors that contribute to that are good quality products at affordable prices. The company recently unveiled a neckband in the market, which is named Boat Rockerz 330. Along with the TWS earbuds, the neckbands have also picked up the pace. The smartphone companies including Xiaomi, Realme and OnePlus have launched audio products in the recent past, including neckbands. So, the market is clearly brimming with choices.

What makes a neckband more desirable is the low chances of losing it. But the neckbands do not have as much battery life as any other TWS earbuds. However, Boat might address that issue as the company has claimed that the neckband can last for around 30 hours on s single charge. That is even more than some TWS earbuds in the market. Launched at Rs 1299, Boat Rockers 330 comes with a stunning design, it is lightweight and has a good battery. But should you buy this? Let us find out in the review.

Boat Rockerz 330: Design

Boat Rockerz 330 looks identical to the Rockerz 335 that was launched a year ago. The design is one of the reasons why the buyers will get drawn to the device. It will particularly appeal to the younger lot because of its quirky design and peppy colours. For review, I received the teal blue colour.

The control board of the Boat Rockerz 330 has been made up of metal, and the company has used high-grade silicon for the remaining part, which is the neckband. It is pretty lightweight, and because of that, it sits comfortably on your neck, even for long hours. The buttons, including the power button, volume rockers and the charging port, are placed on the right end of the neckband.

The earbuds have a magnetic base that offers a tangle-free experience. Apart from that, earbuds have ear locks made up of the same silicone that has been used in the entire band to provide a snug fit. The boat also provided extra ear tips of different sizes inside the box.

The neckband is extremely comfortable to hand around for long hours. Because of the high-grade silicone, you would not feel the weight around. Coming to the earbuds, although the earlocks provide a snug fit, I wish the company had included smaller sized ear tips for people with smaller earlobes, especially if you start sweating from your ears. The volume buttons are clicked, and the touch response is good, but you have to put in a lot of pressure to turn off the device. Only after pressing the power button really hard, you can turn off the device.

Apart from that, the device is IPX5 rated for sweat and water resistance which means you can wear it during rigorous workout sessions, swimming or taking a shower. Overall, the build quality is quite good for the price that it comes for. It does not feel plasticky or cheap at all, plus you do have interesting colour options to choose from.

Boat Rockerz 330: Performance

Let’s start with the most important bit first, and that is the audio quality. When you pick a device that does not cost a lot, you often doubt its sound quality. However, that is not generally the case with Boat audio products. Boat products are not priced outrageously, but that doesn’t mean that they comprise the sound quality.

With Boat Rockerz 330, the company has retained its sound quality. The earbuds are equipped with 10mm drivers that produce a loud enough sound even when the volume is 70 per cent. It is a treat for the bass heads as the bass is quite prominent, and you also get a thumping sound experience that takes you to another world. The vocals are clear, and the mids, lows are impressive. However, the highs sometimes get a little squeaky. But that does not often happen and also depends on the genre of music you are listening to.

As mentioned before, the earbuds can get pretty loud, so it is advisable to keep the volume low to save your ears from damage. I tried listening to songs from different genres, including the EDM, soft Bollywood classics, jazz, and I was impressed with Boat’s treatment of every genre.

The Boat Rockerz 330 is equipped with a dual-mic which ensures good input and output quality. This means that the sound quality on both ends is quite clear.

Now coming to the battery, the company claims that the earbuds can provide 10 hours of backup on a 10-minute charge. To completely charge the device, takes about 40 minutes. I used it for a little over two weeks, and it lasted me for more than 10 days on a single charge. Overall, the battery life is quite good for the price it comes for.

Boat Rockerz 330: Should you buy it?

If you are looking for a neckband under Rs 2000, there cannot be a better option than the Boat Rockerz 330. It is priced at Rs 1299 and comes in attractive colours. The Boat Rockers comes with excellent battery life and good quality. It does not come with APTx support, but that does not affect its sound in any way. Yes, the fit can be a problem for some users with small earlobes, but it would not be a problem for you if you have spare ear tips. Overall, a great option for budget buyers.
