Coronavirus Live Updates: India’s coronavirus tally has crossed the six lakh-mark after more than 19,000 new infections and 434 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. More than 3.5 lakh patients have recovered so far. The country’s average positivity rate stood at 8.34 percent this morning; the recovery rate stood at 59.51 percent.
Around 90 percent of total infections in India are from ten states — Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, and Karnataka.
The spike comes amid a gradual relaxation of the restrictions imposed since March. On Monday, the government had announced “Unlock 2”, where the containment zones will remain under lockdown.
Covid-19: Most affected Indian states
India’s Covid-19 tally breached the 6 lakh cases mark with 19,428 new coronavirus cases being reported in the last 24 hours, informed the Union ministry of health and family welfare on Thursday. The total cases now stand at 605,220 of which there are 227,476 active cases while 359,896 patients have been cured/discharged/migrated. 438 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours taking the number of Covid-19 deaths in the country to 17,834.
