FAU-G made in India mobile game
FAU-G, short for Fearless and United Guards, is all set to launch this Republic Day. The made-in-India mobile game made it to news headlines for the first time back in September 2020 when actor Akshay Kumar shared a poster for the game soon after the Indian government banned PUBG Mobile in the country. Touted as an alternative PUBG Mobile, FAU-G is developed by nCore games, a Bengaluru-based publisher, and is backed by Vishal Gondal and Akshay Kumar.
FAU-G, the action game, has already been said to be part of PM Narendra Modi’s Atmanirbhar movement and will let players also learn about our soldiers’ sacrifices. The game will also donate 20 percent of the revenue generated with Bharat Ke Veer trust. The game was announced a day after PUBG Mobile was banned in India alongside 118 Chinese apps.
A week back, FAU-G had crossed over 4 million pre-registrations on Google Play and hopes to achieve 5 million pre-registrations. nCore Games says that no other game in India has crossed 5 million pre-registrations to date.
FAU-G gameplay and teaser
As announced earlier, the game is based on Galwan Valley incident. Vishal Gondal had told Reuters, “This game was in the works for some months, and in fact, the first level of the game is based on Galwan Valley.”
The game as described by nCore Games, “In Galwan Valley, 17000 feet above sea level, the elite and formidable FAU-G stand fearless and united, guarding the nation’s borders and protecting its citizens. An encounter awaits them, one that will put their grit to the test. As their tale of valour unfolds, strengths, both physical and mental, are called upon to defeat the enemy.”
Interestingly, the game doesn’t mention anything about Chinese troops or enemies, a smart move by the developers.
“High up on the peaks at India’s northern border, an elite fighting group protects the nation’s pride and sovereignty. It’s a daunting task, for the most courageous: The Fearless and United Guards. Join a special unit of FAU-G commandos on patrol in dangerous border territory. Come face-to-face with India’s enemies as you engage with hostile invaders on Indian soil. Fight for survival against the unforgiving terrain and the implacable enemy. Fill the shoes of a patriotic soldier and experience the bravery, brotherhood, and sacrifice of the men guarding the country’s borders,” the Google Play store listing adds.
FAU-G mobile game: Compatible devices
The FAU-G mobile game will be available to Android users at launch. There’s no word about the iOS game as of now. The company hasn’t listed out the minimum requirement for running the game but looking at the teaser and graphics, we expect it to run on devices with less RAM too.
