Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised an initiative of the Uttar Pradesh government to offer a helpline facility to extend healthcare and legal aids among other services to senior citizens.
He was responding to a news report about chief minister Yogi Adityanath-led government’s project Elderline receiving a good response from the elderly.
“Very good initiative! @myogiadityanath,” Modi said in a tweet.
The UP chief minister was quick to respond to the PM’s tweet, acknowledging the praise.
“It’s by following your all-inclusive mantra of sabka saath, sabka vikas and sabka vishwas that the state government has been able to extend help and emotional support to the elderly,” he responded.
“On behalf of the people of the state, I heartily thank you for your wholesome praise,” Adityanath tweeted.
The appreciation for the welfare scheme by the Yogi government comes on the heels of the UP CM’s meeting last week with PM Modi, BJP chief JP Nadda and others following concern over the situation in Uttar Pradesh ahead of next year’s assembly elections.
