Coronavirus cases in India: The total number of coronavirus cases in India now stands at 13,495, and as many as 448 people have died of the disease so far, according to data compiled by Worldometer.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday reduced the reverse repo rate by 25 basis points (bps) to 3.75% in order to tackle the coronavirus menace. Addressing the media, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das also announced a Rs 50,000-crore special refinance package for Nabard, Sidbi, and NHB.

RBI told banks not to make any dividend payouts until further notice.

World update on coronavirus: Globally, more than 146,873 people have died from COVID-19 so far and the number of confirmed infections has reached 2,183,908, according to Worldometer data. A record number of 4,591 Americans have died in the last 24 hours due to the deadly novel coronavirus in the US, which has the highest number of COVID-19 casualties in the world. Meanwhile, China’s coronavirus death toll mounted to 4,632 today as the country revised figures in its epicenter Wuhan with 1,290 additional fatalities amid international criticism of under-reporting of COVID-19 data.
