Handwara Police arrests 2 Al-Badr terrorists and 3 aides, recovers arms

In a major development in North Kashmir, during a search operation on Tuesday, security forces in Handwara arrested three suspects. Police have said the group was found in a suspicious condition and tried to escape on seeing the search party at the spot.

In a major development in North Kashmir, during a search operation on Tuesday, security forces in Handwara arrested three suspects. Police have said the group was found in a suspicious condition and tried to escape on seeing the search party at the spot.

The police further said that arms and ammunition and a letter pad of terror outfit Al-Badr were recovered from the possession of the arrested terrorists.

“During further questioning, it came to the surface that the trio was working with militant outfit Al-Badr as OGWs and are providing logistical support, food and shelter to the militant outfit. They were also helping create OGW network for the outfit and were identifying safe routes for their movement”, said the police.

During the investigation, the arrested terror operatives revealed that two other persons known to them have recently joined the militant ranks and are operating in the Handwara area.

Handwara Police and 21 Rashtriya Rifles launched a cordon and search operation in the forest area of Baderkali. During the search operation, two men were nabbed along with arms and ammunition.
