The members of the Tyagi community has gathered in Noida to hold a mahapanchayat condemning the arrest of self-proclaimed BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi.

A heavy police force has been deployed in Noida as supporters of self-proclaimed BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi gathered to hold a mahapanchayat at the Ramlila Maidan on Sunday.
The Tyagi society gathered at different locations in Noida and started the meeting at around 10 am. Earlier, they planned that if their demands are not met by the authorities, they would sit on an indefinite protest.
The Bharatiya Kisan Union’s Tikait group also gave its support to the mahapanchayat. Vice-president Mange Ram Tyagi said, “The Tyagi community is not against the BJP or UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, but there is a lot of anger against BJP MP Mahesh Sharma.”
Meanwhile, residents of Grand Omaxe Society, Sector 93-B in Noida held a silent protest on Sunday protesting the attack on the female resident of the society. On the posters put up in the society, residents of the society are protesting against injustice, oppression and humiliation of women.
Shrikant Tyagi was arrested by the police for allegedly abusing and assaulting a woman on the premises of Grand Omaxe in Noida Sector 93B. The incident took place when the woman objected to the plantation of some trees by Tyagi, citing violation of rules even as he claimed he was within his rights to do so.
As many as 12 police teams and the Uttar Pradesh STF searched for Shrikant Tyagi across three states. He was traced to Meerut, where police arrested him and three of his associates.
