“There were a couple of little method changes that we made with him. We just opened up his hips and his shoulders a tad. So he was a smidgen more chest-on towards the right-arm quick bowlers.” The 29-year-old bowling all-rounder didn’t make his IPL debut for MI in 2013. He prospered during his five-year stretch at Rulers XI Punjab and arose as one of the most incredible white-ball entertainers with some great show for the Delhi Capitals over the last four seasons.

“Assuming there was ever a shortcoming in his game, it was the short ball that was somewhat aimed at his body. The explanation that he was a piece feeble in that space was he was excessively side-on, and the ball was generally kind of in behind his right shoulder,” Ponting said.

“We just attempted to open him up a tad, which gave him somewhat more admittance to the ball. He’s forever been a delightful offside player. You know, his cover driving and cutting is on par with what anybody’s. What’s more, regardless, he was only a tad chomped excessively closed off to have the option to score well on the leg side.

“We changed a couple of things there and in light of the fact that he’s a decent youngster to work with, and he’s clearly exceptionally skilled, so consequently he was a quick student and had the option to get things actually rapidly and change his method enough to show great improvement truly right off the bat.”
