Realme Buds Air 2 are the brand new truly wireless earbuds that you can buy for Rs 3,299. That is the lowest price you will pay for a pair of earbuds that support active noise cancellation. Last year’s Realme Buds Air Pro, too, have active noise cancellation, but they cost Rs 4,999. And that is why it is important to know why the latest Buds Air 2 make for a good buy for Rs 3,299. The latest TWS earbuds from Realme go big on sound quality, as well, so that is another thing you should weigh in on while considering the Buds Air 2.

So, how good are these earbuds? How well do they perform? What is the sound quality like? Does active noise cancellation work well? I have answers to all your questions about the Realme Buds Air 2. In my expansive review, I have talked about the good things and the bad things about the new earbuds and whether they deserve your money. Since that review is a bit lengthy, here are five points from that review that will tell my experience concisely.

— Realme Buds Air 2 are stylish looking earbuds that are a huge upgrade from the first-generation Buds Air and even the Buds Air Pro, which are the inspiration for the design. Instead of the chunky design, the Buds Air 2 is sleek and weighs around 134 grams, making it easy to carry around. The quality of the earbuds and the charging case is also good while the dual-tone colour finish is what will attract you to these earbuds. I used the Closer White variant that has a silver-coloured stem and white body. This stem helps when you want to take the earbuds out of the case.

— It uses a 10mm diamond-class HiFi driver, which you will usually find on premium headphones. Realme claims that this driver gives a rich sound out that will be pleasing to ears. And I have to agree. The sound quality of these earbuds is great. The bass is not too overpowering yet rich enough to create thumps, especially in Bollywood songs. There is a good soundstage too, meaning, in certain songs, you can figure out the location of the instrument used in the song.

— The Realme Buds Air 2 is the most affordable pair of earbuds with active noise cancellation. And the ANC on these earbuds is actually quite good. You get three modes for ANC, which you can choose from inside the Realme Link app. You can use the Noise Cancellation mode to make your earbuds actively cancel out the noise while the general mode will turn it off. There is also a Transparency mode that you can turn on when you want to talk to someone without having to remove the earbuds.

— Realme Buds Air 2 can be paired with your Android phone using the Realme Link app. You can pair the earbuds with your iPhone, as well over Bluetooth but there is no support for the Realme Link app for them as of now. Also, the Realme Buds Air 2 will not support all sorts of gestures on the iPhone. On Android, you can customise gestures and choose ANC and sound modes from the Realme Link app.

— Calling on the Buds Air 2 earbuds is also quite good. With the help of environmental noise cancellation, the earbuds facilitate uninterrupted sound on call, so that you and the person you are talking to can clearly hear each other without the noises disturbing you both.

Realme Buds Air 2 review verdict

If you want a pair of earbuds that sound well and feature good active noise cancellation, Realme’s Buds Air 2 are your best bet. For Rs 3,299, they are the most affordable truly wireless earbuds with ANC that will go with your Android phone.
