Meta’s WhatsApp Has Launched a New Feature Enabling Users to Share Voice Messages in Your Status

WhatsApp has launched a new Voice Status feature, allowing users to share audio recordings as status updates. WhatsApp reportedly started rolling out the feature to select beta testers earlier this month. The update allows users to share important announcements or lists of instructions with their contacts via WhatsApp status, similar to sending a voice message in a chat window.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp users can post up to 30 seconds of recordings as their status. The updates will disappear after 24 hours and are encrypted end-to-end, meaning only the people who have been added to your privacy settings can listen to your Voice Status. The feature will also enable you to delete your status for all or just the people you’ve shared it with.

How To Use

You can create a Voice Status by tapping on the microphone icon in your status creation screen and recording your voice. You can also cancel the recording and start over by sliding your finger in the justify direction. Once you’re happy with your recording, you can tap on the arrow icon to share it. The new feature adds another option to the existing options for sharing ephemeral content on WhatsApp status, which includes photos, videos, GIFs, and text.

This can prove to be a creative way to connect with your friends and family. You can record a funny story or joke and share it with your contacts to make them laugh. Voice status is a great way to express your emotions, which cannot be done in words. Hence, you can now keep in touch with your loved ones without having to text or call them.

More Features, More Fun!

WhatsApp has been introducing several new features lately, including a Reaction feature for Status updates. You can now react to any status updates with a selection of eight emojis. This can be a faster way to tell how you feel about any status update posted by your contacts.

In a separate update, the messaging platform has added more emojis to its sticker library. The addition of a bear, a dog, and a cat will bring the total number of emojis to 80. These new emojis will be available in the upcoming Android version of WhatsApp.

Secrecy is Yours!

WhatsApp’s other new features include a leave group discreetly feature that will let you leave groups without letting the admin know about your decision. This will be a relief for users who are in large groups with many members. It will also enable you to post links in your status with a visual preview of the link content.

Update Anniversary

This update comes just a year after WhatsApp launched its message reaction feature. The reactions are useful to respond quickly to any status updates that you see from your contacts. However, it’s important to remember that you can still reply with texts, voice messages, or stickers as your status.
