Night curfew in Noida, schools and colleges to be shut till April 17: All you need to know

An encounter has started at the Shopian town in Jammu and Kashmir. Police and security forces are on the job.

In view of the recent increase in Covid-19 cases, the Gautam Buddha Nagar district administration has imposed a night curfew in Noida from Thursday. The curfew will remain in place till April 17 from 10 pm to 5 am.

Besides night curfew, the administration has announced that “all government, private educational institutes (except medical, paramedical and nursing) coaching institutes” cannot hold physical classes till April 17.

However, the movement of all essential services has been exempted.

The administration has also urged for strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols in public places.

“There shall be an intensive enforcement of masks and other Covid protocols in public places including workplaces, by police/incident commanders and by concerned departments,” the order stated.

WHAT IS EXEMPTED AND WHAT’S NOT

  • Movement of individuals for all non-essential activities to remain strictly prohibited from 10 pm to 5 am in Noida
  • All movement of essential goods/commodities and essential/medical services shall be exempted from the above order
  • All government, private educational institutes (except medical, paramedical and nursing) including coaching institutes shall be barred from holding physical classes till April 17.
  • All exams including practicals shall be held as per the schedule and are exempted from this order
