OnePlus Nord 2, the company’s real successor to the original Nord smartphone, is set to launch today in India. The company has managed to create a good amount of buzz around the upcoming Nord smartphone.

The July 22 launch will see the unveiling of the new Nord smartphone and the company’s all-new OnePlus Buds Pro. The company has been teasing the Buds Pro with teasers that highlight “Anti-noise. Pro sound.” Considering, we haven’t heard a lot about the Buds Pro, so we will have to wait till the launch today.

The new Nord 2 will be the first smartphone launched after the formal announcement of the OnePlus and Oppo merger, making the new handset more crucial than ever. OnePlus, in the build-up to the launch today, has so far confirmed several features of the Nord 2, and thanks to all the teasers and leaks, there’s hardly much guesswork left.

How to watch the OnePlus Nord 2 launch live stream

What to expect from the OnePlus Nord 2 launch

The company confirmed that the new Nord 2 would sport the custom Dimensity 1200-AI processor, which will have more AI enhancements on top of the already capable processor. In addition, it will be launched with Android 11 out of the box, and OnePlus has confirmed that it will receive two years of software updates and three years of security updates.

Next, the company confirmed details about the primary camera. The new Nord 2 has been confirmed to sport a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor with optical image stabilisation features. Notably, the same sensor has also been seen on the flagship OnePlus 9 series.

OnePlus has also confirmed the rear panel design of the Nord 2, and it looks like the OnePlus 9 with a similar rear camera setup. In addition, the leaks have given a sneak peek into the possible colour options, which include Blue Haze, Grey Sierra, Green-Wood, and a Red colour option.

A recent teaser on social media gave details about the battery. The new Nord 2 is said to pack a 4500mAh battery and support Warp Charge 65. The battery on the new Nord 2 has been given a significant boost to match the OnePlus 9 series and beat the original Nord battery capacity and fast-charging support.

A previous report even gave us hints about the pricing of the new Nord 2, which is said to start at Rs 31,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model and go up to Rs 34,999 for the 12GB and 256GB storage model. If this comes out to be true, then the new Nord 2 will be considerably pricier than the original Nord smartphone in India.
