Over 26 lakh COVID 19 tests in India, total cases over 1.12 lakh, says ICMR

Coronavirus Cases in India Latest Updates: Total Coronavirus cases in India have crossed the 1.12 lakh-mark while COVID-19 related deaths are over 3400-mark. In India, there are 63,582 active Coronavirus positive cases. So far 45,422  COVID 19 positive patients have recovered. As many as 3438 people have died due to the deadly virus and one has been migrated. The recovery rate in India is now over 39 percent, as per details shared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Meanwhile, the national lockdown has been extended and state governments have been issuing Lockdown 4.0 guidelines asking people to adhere to these. Around the world, over 50 lakh people have been affected by Coronavirus and over 3.29 lakh people have died due to COVID 19. The US, UK, Russia, Italy, Spain, and France are the worse affected countries around the world, as per details shared by Johns Hopkins University and Medicine Corornavirus Resource Center.

UP’s Barabanki emerges as new COVID-19 hotspot

Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district has emerged as the new COVID-19 hotspot, with 95 new cases being reported in a single day.

Among those who tested positive, 49 are migrants who had recently returned from other states, the District Magistrate Aadarsh Kumar said. With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the district has gone up to 122, the DM added.

Trump says his hydroxychloroquine regimen finishes in ‘day or two’

United States’ President Donald Trump has said that the regimen of antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) that he is taking to ward off COVID-19 will finish in the next day or two.

Trump had disclosed on May 18 that he was taking the drug despite medical warnings about potentially serious side effects and questions about its effectiveness in preventing the coronavirus.
