India cricketers are making good use of life in the bio-bubble. Head coach Ravi Shastri on Wednesday shared a photo of a team lunch session from their hotel in Pune as the players and support staff celebrated India’s win over England in the ODI series opener on Tuesday.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were spotted in the photo while the likes of KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and the Pandya brothers had also joined the rest of the teammates for lunch. Rishabh Pant, sporting a Liverpool shirt and Yuzvendra Chahal, were also part of the photograph.

Ravi Shastri talked up the team morale in the Indian dressing room, captioning the photo: “The pack that stays together. Bubble or no bubble. Results will come and go for others to follow. Great day in lovely Pune.”

Notably, Ravi Shastri had spoken about the impact of bio-bubble, highlighting that it has been difficult for India players and support staff. However, he also pointed out that players have got to know each other well during their stay in the bio-bubble. Barring a few days break after the Australia tour, India players have been in bio-secure environments August 2020.

” think the best thing that has happened is talking cricket amongst the team members and they had no choice, so they were forced to do it and that’s been a big help,” Shastri had said.

“They have gotten to understand each others’ background, mental state, where they come from, where they are in life, settled, unsettled.” Shastri believes that the kind of discussions that they had helped them grow a mutual trust and bonding.

“It allowed them to open themselves to their colleagues a lot more, discuss personal issues, you know more freely, win more trust from the team members, a lot of positives like you mentioned because of this bubble,” he said.

India had sealed a convincing 66-run win in the 1st ODI to take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series which will be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Stadium in Pune. India have headed into the 50-over series after winning the Tests 3-1 and T20Is 3-2 against England. Notably, this is the first time since the T20I series in Australia India have won a series opener. The 2nd ODI between India and England will be played in Pune on Friday, March 26.
