Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has apologized after worshipping Kali Mata in Kolkata. He posted a video from his channel on YouTube in which he apologized for worship last week.
A person from Bangladesh had threatened to kill him on Facebook. Shakib is believed to be under pressure due to the protests on social media and apologized on Tuesday. He also said that this would not happen again.
Shakib, who faced the ban due to fixing, reached Kolkata on Thursday last week where he worshipped mother, Kali in Blight. After Shakib returned to Bangladesh, Mohsin Talukdar of Sylhet city said in Facebook Live that the cricketer insulted Muslims. He also said that if he had to come to Dhaka from Sylhet to kill Shakib, he would come.
Shakib said in the video posted on his YouTube channel, “I would not like to go to that place (Kolkata) again.” If you think this is against you, I apologize. I will try that it does not happen again. There are reports on social media that I went to attend the ceremony, but it is not so. I did not even do any worship. Being a conscious Muslim, I will not do this. If I make a mistake, I apologize for that. ‘
