After asking why actors are not given Covid-19 vaccine on priority as they are exposed to the virus on sets, Soni Razdan has now questioned why the most active age group of 16 to 40 is not being provided with the vaccine first since they are ones who are socialising the most. The veteran actress tagged Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his son and Maharashtra’s Tourism and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray in her tweet.

Soni Razdan took to Twitter to express concern over why people in the age group 16 to 40 are not being vaccinated first. She wrote, “When it’s really the 16 to 40 age group that’s ‘socialising’ going out to work, bars, nightclubs etc (the last 2 without masks mostly) just can’t understand why they aren’t getting the vaccine first. @uddhavthackeray @AUThackeray (sic).

“She also tagged Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya Thackeray in her tweet. Aaditya is also Maharashtra’s Tourism and Environment Minister. He was recently tested positive for Covid-19. Today, his mother and CM’s wife, Rashmi Thackeray also tested Covid positive.

Soni Razdan’s recent statement has come after her appeal to the government to provide the Covid-19 vaccine to actors on priority as they are more vulnerable to the virus on the sets. She had written, “So many actors get COVID and are at huge risk when working. I mean we actually can’t wear masks. But no one seems to think they need to be able to take the vaccine yet It’s a profession none the less. People need to work right. Others can do so wearing protection but actors are the only people who cannot! And so .. (sic).”

She added, “Oh and every actor isn’t a huge superstar.. so those who are whining on about that can keep shut. Stop watching content and then. It is made with great risk to the concerned actor’s lives. Being at the top of one’s profession can’t be a disqualification for a vaccine. Jeez (sic).”

Soni Razdan raised the point after Ranbir Kapoor tested Covid positive. Ranbir is the boyfriend of Razdan’s daughter Alia Bhatt. Alia had isolated herself at her home after Ranbir tested positive for coronavirus.
