The Pakistan-sponsored terror module arrested by the Delhi Police was planning to repeat a 1993 Bombay blast-like attack and had identified multiple locations for the same.
Sources have said questioning of the six people who were arrested by Delhi Police’s Special Cell on Tuesday, has revealed that they were planning to carry out an attack on the lines of the 1993 blasts.
The police had also recovered about 1.5 kg of RDX from the arrested terrorists.
The arrested terrorists have named some people who have been working as sleeper cells to aid the terror module. Police expect to arrest more people in the coming days, said sources.
On Tuesday, Delhi Police busted the Pakistan-organised terror module with the arrest of six men, including two Pakistan-ISI trained terrorists.
The accused, identified as Jaan Mohammad Sheikh (47) alias ”Sameer”, Osama (22), Moolchand (47), Zeeshan Qamar (28), Mohd Abu Bakar (23) and Mohd Amir Javed (31), were arrested following raids in Delhi and parts of Uttar Pradesh.
All the six arrested accused, including Osama and Qamar, were produced at a Delhi court and have been taken on 14 days’ police remand for further interrogation.
