Unlock 4.0: Students of classes 9 to 12 can visit schools in Haryana from September 21

Haryana students of classes 9 to 12 will be allowed to visit their schools on a voluntary basis from September 21.

All the students of classes 9 to 12 will be allowed to visit their schools in Haryana on a voluntary basis from September 21. The schools have been directed to follow the health ministry’s guidelines for a partial reopening of schools for students of classes 9th to 12th.

The Directorate of School Education in a letter to district education officers (DEOs), stated that the schools must follow the standard operating procedures (SOP).

Covid-19 test for teachers ahead of reopening of the schools:

As per the guidelines, all the school teachers need to install the Aarogya Setu app and undergo a Covid-19 test ahead of the partial reopening of the schools.

Also, the school authorities have been directed to do thermal scanning of students before entering the premises.

The Health Ministry issued guidelines for a partial reopening of schools for classes 9-12 on September 8.

List of SOPs to be followed:

  • With the rising number of Covid-19 cases, a seating arrangement has to be made to ensure a distance of 6 feet between chairs, desks, etc and the teaching faculty will ensure that they themselves and students wear masks throughout the conduct of the teaching/guidance activities
  • Physical distancing shall also be maintained in staff rooms, office areas including a reception area, and other places such as mess, libraries, cafeterias, etc
  • Concerning teaching and non-teaching employees (up to 50 percent of the strength) may be called to schools for online teaching/tele-counseling and related work
  • If the transportation facility is being managed by the school, proper physical distancing, sanitization of buses/other transport vehicles (with 1 percent sodium hypochlorite) shall be ensured.

SOPs for reopening of schools

It is stated in the guidelines issued by MHA that physical distancing of at least 6 feet is to be followed as far as feasible. Similarly, physical distancing shall also be maintained in staff rooms, office areas (including reception area), and other places (mess, libraries, cafeterias, etc.)

As per the SOPs, assemblies, sports, and events that can lead to overcrowding are strictly prohibited. The usage of face masks and regular washing of hands with soap is mandatory for all students and staff present on campus.
