The Afghanistan Cricket Board declared a visit to Sri Lanka and a series against Ireland in the UAE in front of the T20 World Cup. Afghanistan players will go to Sri Lanka for an oddball Test on February 2 at the Sinhalese Games Club Cricket Ground in Colombo. The oddball Test will be trailed by a three-match ODI and T20I series, which will start on February 9 and 17, individually. The Afghanistan group will remain in Colombo for the ODI series as all the matches will be played at the R Premadasa Global Cricket Arena. The group will then move to Dambulla for the T20I series.
After the finish of their Sri Lanka visit, the Blue Tigers will go to the UAE and play against Ireland from February 28 to Walk 18.
The series will have a similar organization, as Afghanistan will play an oddball Test and afterward play three-match white ball series (T20I, ODI).
The oddball Test will be played at the Sheik Zayed Cricket Arena in Abu Dhabi and the two groups will make a trip to Sharjah for both white-ball series.
The ODIs will be played on Walk 7, 9 and 12, with the T20Is starting on Walk 15.
Afghanistan Cricket Board Chief Naseeb Khan discussed the impending visit and said as cited from the ICC, “The year 2024 is an extremely occupied and brimming with high-voltage contests for the Afghanistan public group.”
“The impending voyages through India, Sri Lanka, and afterward the home series against Ireland will assist us with setting up the group for the much-significant T20 World Cup. (We’re) anxiously anticipating the numerous series,” Naseeb added.
Prior to making a trip to Sri Lanka, Afghanistan will play a three-match T20I series in their lady India visit which will start on Thursday.
