Apple has announced iOS 18.2, introducing new features to the Apple Intelligence suite. Here are all the new features that come to the iPhone with iOS 18.2.
The update’s centerpiece is Image Playground, a revolutionary tool that allows users to generate unique images with just a few taps. This feature enables personalization by generating images based on photos from users’ libraries. Users can create custom visuals in animation and illustration styles directly on messaging apps and other creative platforms.
Another standout feature is Genmoji, which takes emoji creation to the next level. Users can now generate custom emojis by typing descriptions or using photos of friends and family, adding accessories and personalizing them to reflect specific themes or activities.
The update also integrates ChatGPT seamlessly into Siri and Writing Tools, giving users instant access to advanced AI capabilities without switching applications. Users can generate content, get writing suggestions, and even use ChatGPT’s image generation features, all while maintaining control over data sharing.
Visual intelligence capabilities have been expanded, particularly for iPhone 16 models. Camera controls allow users to instantly analyze surroundings, translate text, and extract contact information.
While the update is compatible with iPhone XS and newer models, Apple Intelligence only works on the iPhone 16 series and iPhone 15 Pro models.
The update also expands Apple Intelligence’s availability outside the US. Now, the features will be available in English in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK, with more languages planned throughout the year.
