Infosys Mysuru campus had an unexpected visitor, prompting the company to ask employees to work from home on December 31, reports MoneyControl. Located near the Hebbal Industrial Area, the Infosys campus is close to a reserve forest, an area known to be a natural habitat for leopards. Occasional sightings still occur, and officials believe the leopard may have strayed from the forest while looking for food.
Readers must note that this isn’t the first time a leopard has been seen on the software giant’s premises. A leopard had previously also wandered into the campus in 2011.

What Infosys told its employees

In an internal communication mail sent by the company’s human resource department, it said “Dear Infoscion, a wild animal has been spotted on the Mysuru DC campus today. Efforts are underway to ensure campus safety in collaboration with the task force.”

“”You are requested to work from home today (December 31). The security team has been instructed not to permit anyone inside the campus,” the communication further stated.

As the communication reads, the security team of the Infosys campus was directed to restrict access to the campus. “Please do not enter the campus today (December 31),” the notice added.

Forest department officials confirmed that CCTV footage showed a leopard around 2 AM. IB Prabhu Gowda, the Deputy Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), told Money Control, “The leopard was seen on CCTV around 2 AM. Our team reached the location around 4 AM and immediately began a combing operation.”

Infosys asks trainees to stay indoors.

Infosys has also asked approximately 4,000 trainees at the Infosys Global Education Centre in Mysuru to stay indoors today. An internal message to the trainees, reviewed by the publication, stated, “The training schedule will be delayed by a day. Please stay in your hostel rooms and use the day for self-study.” Trainees have also been advised not to leave the campus and remain in their hostel rooms until further notice.
