NEW DELHI: British band Coldplay performed an unforgettable show on Saturday at the sold-out DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, delighting the fans with a performance that was nothing short of a cultural celebration.
The frontman, Chris Martin, won the hearts of fans with his chartbuster tracks in the presence of legend Sachin Tendulkar, playback singer Shreya Ghosal, and other icons.
To go with the music, Martin captivated the audience with his humour and curiosity.
In one such incident, Martin mentioned Jasprit Bumrah, India’s pace spearhead, followed by huge cheers from the fans.
“Hold on, we have to finish the show because Jasprit Bumrah wants to come and play backstage,” Martin had said.

Bumrah, on Monday, reacted to Martin’s mention at the concert, saying it made him smile.

For two hours at the packed stadium, Martin belted out hits like “Paradise,” “Viva La Vida”, “Adventure of a Lifetime,” “Yellow,” “Fix You”, and “A Sky Full of Stars,” among others.
Bumrah was recently named Player of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 Series after finishing with 32 wickets in the five-match series against Australia.
He also captained the team India in the first and final Test.
On their tour of India, Coldplay is scheduled to perform next in Mumbai on January 19 and January 21. After Mumbai, they will head to Ahmedabad for two consecutive shows on January 25 and 26.
