Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal announces “probably the biggest single day store opening ever” on X, says all stores have…

Ola Electric

Ola Electric is planning a retail expansion to open 4,000 new stores across India this month. CEO Bhavish Aggarwal announced the plan on X, stating that the company aims to be closer to its customers and that all new stores will be operational by December 20.

Notably, this will significantly increase from the current 800 stores and potentially represent the largest single-day store opening ever. Aggarwal made an announcement on X on the same:

Taking the Electric revolution to the next level this month.
Going from 800 stores right now to 4000 stores this month itself. Goal to be as close to our customers as possible.

All stores opening together on 20th Dec across India. Probably the biggest single day store opening ever!

Stores to have service capacity

Aggarwal also emphasized that these new stores will have service capacity, indicating Ola Electric’s focus on addressing concerns regarding its after-sales service.

In another post, he said that “All stores have service capacity too.”

The move comes after mounting customer complaints about service delays, component quality, and issues with batteries and vehicle parts. Earlier this year, Aggarwal engaged in a war of words with comedian Kunal Kamra on X when the latter posted about customers complaining about the lack of service/ service quality of their e-scooters.

Over 10,000 complaints were lodged with the National Consumer Helpline between September 2023 and August 2024.

Ola Electric also received a show cause notice from the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) regarding potential violations of the Consumer Protection Act 2019. The CCPA cited concerns about misleading advertisements, unfair trade practices, and inadequate service.
