Barcelona mentor Xavi Hernandez said he could have done without a virtual entertainment post from a club representative excusing bigoted maltreatment of Genuine Madrid winger Vinicius Junior and considering him a “comedian” in front of the Clasico on Saturday. The Brazilian forward was racially mishandled during his group’s 1-1 draw on Saturday at Sevilla, with the Andalusian club launching a fan from the arena. “It’s not bigotry, (Vinicius) merits a slap for being a jokester,” composed Barcelona chiefs’ board representative Mikel Camps on X, previously Twitter, during Madrid’s success over Braga on Tuesday.
“What do these superfluous and futile stepovers address in the focal point of the pitch?”
Camps later erased his post however Spanish media say Genuine Madrid president Florentino Perez won’t go to the Clasico on Saturday in Barcelona in fight.
Xavi, talking after his group’s 2-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday, said the remark added to the pressure around the game, which he didn’t support.
“I don’t need to say it, it’s been erased, that says enough, it’s a simple as that,” said Xavi.
“I could do without anything that raises the pressure, not (Madrid endeavors) to condition the arbitrators, nor this ‘tweet’. I like fair play, and shared deference.”
Barcelona VP Rafa Yuste apologized to Vinicius.
“Assuming Vinicius is paying attention to me, this won’t be rehashed,” promised Yuste on Movistar.
