The Manipur government on Wednesday declined the ‘ground consent’ for Congress pioneer Rahul Gandhi‘s ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ at Hatta Kangjeibung in Imphal East locale.
The yatra was booked to start on January 14 from Imphal.
Manipur Pradesh Congress Panel president and senior Congress MLA K Meghachandra, who alongside a group of party pioneers, met Boss Clergyman N Biren Singh at his office complex-cum-Lodge on Wednesday morning, said the Main Pastor informed them that his administration couldn’t give the consent, referring to the rule of law circumstance in the state.
Meghachandra, who named the public authority’s reaction as “exceptionally sad” in any case, said following the declination, they have changed the setting to a confidential spot at Khongjom in the Thoubal region.
Tending to a question and answer session, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said, “We got data that the public authority of Manipur has declined (our solicitation) to hold the yatra in Royal Residence Ground, Imphal. When we are beginning a yatra from East to West, how might we stay away from Manipur? Then, at that point, what message we are providing for individuals of the country?”
“We want to begin the yatra from Manipur as it were. We are presently going to begin it from one more area in the state. Subtleties will be declared later,” he said.
On Tuesday, Boss Clergyman Singh said allowing Congress’ ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ was under “dynamic thought” and a choice will be taken on it subsequent to getting reports from security offices.
Addressing correspondents uninvolved of an occasion, Singh said the common rule of peace and law circumstance in Manipur is extremely basic.
