Almost two years after defiance by then Shiv Sena pioneer Eknath Shinde prompted the breakdown of the decision Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra, everyone’s eyes will be on Gathering Speaker Rahul Narwekar as he gives his decision on the exclusion of MLAs from the two opponents groups of the party.
Truth be told, it was the appointment of the Gathering Speaker, Narwekar, that framed the premise of the preclusion supplications of the two opponent sides as they blamed each other for opposing the party’s whip.

What is the debate?
The matter has its foundations in June 2022 when Eknath Shinde and around 40 MLAs opposed then-Boss Pastor Uddhav Thackeray, prompting a split in the Shiv Sena. More than seven days, the revolutionary MLAs bounced from Gujarat’s Surat to Assam’s Guwahati as “resort governmental issues” worked out during the political emergency in Maharashtra.
Shinde ultimately held hands with the BJP, prompting the fall of the decision Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, which additionally involved the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress. Shinde was made the Main Pastor while BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis agreed to the representative CM post.

What has the High Court said? What did the Political Decision Commission rule?
In February 2023, the Political Race Commission perceived the Shinde group as the “genuine” Sena and allowed it the ‘Shiv Sena’ name and ‘bow and bolt’ image. The Thackeray group was given the name Shiv Sena (UBT) with its image being a flaring light.
For its organization, the Political Decision Commission said it put together it to the trial of the larger part. The EC said the Shinde group had the help of 40 out of 67 Sena MLAs and MLCs in Maharashtra, and 13 out of 22 MPs in Parliament.
