South Africa Batter Postponed Wedding For $150,000 BPL Payday? Wasim Akram’s Massive Claim

Legendary Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram made a sensational claim that South Africa’s David Miller, who plays for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL), postponed his wedding to play the last three matches of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 for Fortune Barishal. Akram claimed that Miller was offered $150,000 (Rs 1.24 crore approximately) to play the last three matches and he guided the side to their first title in the competition. Miller recently exchanged vows with longtime girlfriend Camilla Harris in a star-studded event in Cape Town.

“I just found out today because we were discussing who won the BPL as we were not following because of the PSL. David Miller was offered $150,000 to play three matches. He postponed his wedding,” he said on A Sports’ ‘The Pavillion’ show on March 12 after a clash between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings.

Earlier, Akram blasted Abdullah Shafique for his ‘silent’ celebration after taking a good catch to dismiss Imad Wasim during the PSL 2024 match between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United.

Abdullah took a sharp catch at first slip and then celebrated by putting his finger over his mouth to ‘silence his critics’. However, Akram was not happy with his celebration and went on to say that he should ‘work in the drama industry’.

“No doubt, great catch but who is responsible for dropping 36 catches in Australia’s Test series? Who will answer for that? Abdullah should work in drama industry rather than cricket,” he said on A Sports.

Meanwhile, with time running out and short on choices, the Pakistan Cricket Board has turned to three foreign coaches in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to see if either of them are interested in coaching the national team at least until next year’s ICC Champions Trophy.
