The much-anticipated sequel to Allu Arjun’s blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise will hit theatres next month. The second part, Pushpa 2: The Rule, is slated for release on December 5. Directed by Sukumar, the movie is reportedly one of the most expensive Indian films, with a production budget of Rs 500 crore. The buzz is about its television rights being sold for a record price.
According to India Today, the television rights for ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ have been acquired by Pen Studios, led by Jayantilal Gada. Speaking to the media, Gada revealed that this is the studio’s “biggest purchase in India” so far, surpassing even high-budget Bollywood films. However, he refrained from disclosing the exact deal amount.
After its theatrical release, Pushpa 2 will stream on Netflix. According to reports from Sacnilk, the streaming giant has bought the movie’s digital rights for Rs 275 crore, marking another massive milestone for the film.
The official trailer for ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ was unveiled on November 17 at a grand event in Patna. Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil are set to make a robust comeback in the sequel, with Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Prakash Raj, Jagapathi Babu, Anasuya Bharadwaj, and Rao Ramesh in supporting roles.
Directed by Sukumar, the movie features music by national award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad. Actress Sreeleela will perform a dance number alongside Allu Arjun. The film was initially expected to hit theatres on December 6, but the makers postponed its release to December 5 for unknown reasons.
