Bluesky, the X’s rival social media platform, has started testing a new feature: trending topics. This addition aims to help users discover popular conversations and trends within the platform, mirroring a familiar feature on other social media giants like X (formerly Twitter).
“Merry Christmas from us to you 🎄🎁💙 We launched Trending Topics today, and you can find it by tapping the search icon on the app’s bottom bar or the right sidebar on the desktop,” said the company.

🎁 English only for now, while we test it,” added the company.
Currently in beta, the Trending Topics feature is available in English and allows users to easily see the most discussed topics on the platform. It can be accessed through the mobile app search icon or in the desktop interface’s sidebar.
Bluesky emphasises user control over the feature. Users can easily disable trending topics if they find them distracting or irrelevant. Additionally, the platform ensures that any words or phrases muted by the user will not appear in the Trending Topics list.
