A cable technician in Andhra Pradesh allegedly tried to strangle an elderly woman to death at her house last week in a bid to steal her gold chain.
A CCTV video of the incident shows the man wrapping a towel around the woman’s neck as she was sitting down and then strangling her in an alleged attempt to kill her.

According to the police, the cable technician, who would visit the house frequently, was trying to steal the 67-year-old woman’s gold chain.
The incident took place in Andhra Pradesh’s Gavarapalem on the evening of January 26, at about 7:30 pm.
After the attack, a case was filed under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) based on the family’s complaint.
The police are currently trying to locate the accused, Govind, who has been on the run since the incident.
