India wakes up this morning with the big news that Arjun Ram Meghwal has taken over as Law Minister of India from Kiren Rijju. Additionally, the former has been transferred to the Earth Sciences Department. In any case, the justification for such a substitution is yet to be known.
Early Life
In the small desert village of Kishmidesar in the Bikaner district, Arjun Ram Meghwal was born into a weaver’s family. He started his education at a government school and went on to acquire a master’s degree in political science and a law degree. He continued pursuing higher education by earning an MBA from the University of the Philippines. After that, Mr. Meghwal worked for the government; he accepted intentional retirement while filling in as a locale justice.
However, Mr. Meghwal jumped into the public service race, winning in Bikaner and being elected to the 15th Lok Sabha in 2009. From that point forward, there was no thinking back.
