Gujarat diamond trader donates crown worth Rs 11 crore for Ram Lalla’s idol

Surat-based industrialist Mukesh Patel, who heads Greenlab Diamonds, gifted a Rs 11-crore golden crown for the Lord Ram idol which is embedded with precious stones and weighs 6 kgs.

A diamond trader from Gujarat’s Surat has donated a ‘mukut’ (crown) for Ram Lalla’s idol installed at the newly constructed Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The crown, valued at Rs 11 crore, was specially crafted for the deity at the newly constructed Ram Mandir.

Mukesh Patel, the owner of Green Lab Diamond Company in Surat, presented a crown weighing 6 kilograms to Lord Ram, adorned with gold, diamonds, and precious gemstones.

Mukesh Patel, accompanied by his family, personally visited Ayodhya to present the meticulously crafted crown to the temple trust officials.

In the presence of Ram Mandir’s chief priest and the trustees of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust, Mukesh Patel handed over the crown during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.

The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla’s idol in Ayodhya was done earlier in the day amid grand celebrations in the temple town and across the country, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi participating in the rituals.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Bhai Naviya, the National Treasurer of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, revealed that Mukesh Patel also contributed some ornaments for Lord Ram’s idol installed in the newly-built temple.

After thorough research, Patel decided to donate a crown made of gold and other jewels, which was then measured for the statue of Lord Ram. Two employees from the company were sent to Ayodhya to measure the statue, following which the crafting of the crown commenced.

The crown consists of 4 kilograms of gold along with diamonds, rubies, pearls, and sapphires of various sizes.

The new Ram Lalla idol was consecrated at the Ayodhya temple in an event led by PM Modi and watched by lakhs of people on television at their homes and in temples across the country. The Ram Lalla idol has been chiselled by Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj.
