India’s badminton star PV Sindhu, a double Olympic medallist, is all set to begin a new chapter in her life. The 29-year-old is all set to be married to Hyderabad-based Venkata Datta Sai, Executive Director of Posidex Technologies, on December 22 in Udaipur. The celebrations are planned to be grand yet elegant, starting with pre-wedding festivities on December 20.
Sindhu’s family confirmed that the reception will be held in Hyderabad on December 24. The wedding has been scheduled carefully to ensure Sindhu can return to the international badminton circuit in January, as the next season promises to be crucial.

“The two families knew each other but it was only a month ago that everything was finalised. This was the only possible window as her schedule will be hectic from January,” Sindhu’s father, PV Ramana, told PTI.
“So that is why the two families decided to have the marriage ceremony on December 22. The reception will be held in Hyderabad on December 24. She will start her training soon after, as the next season will be important.”
PV Sindhu’s decorated career
Sindhu, one of India’s most celebrated athletes, boasts an enviable career. She has five World Championship medals, including a historic gold in 2019. Her Olympic success includes a silver in Rio 2016 and a bronze in Tokyo 2020. In 2017, she reached her career-best world ranking of No. 2, which solidified her place among badminton’s elite.
Just recently, Sindhu ended a title drought by winning the Syed Modi International in Lucknow, proving she is back in form and ready to take on the world again.
