1. Slice them evenly

However, if you’re not able to find one, you can use a regular one or even a grater. Remember, the more evenly sliced they are, the better the results will be.

2. Cook on a low-medium flame

Another thing to keep in mind while sauteing onions is the flame you use. Most of us raise the flame too high, thinking it’ll help speed up the process. But this is not the case, as it rather worsens the situation. Always keep the flame on low-medium, as it allows the onions to cook evenly. Avoid sauteing them on a high flame if you want to avoid throwing them away in the trash.

3. Use enough oil

While sauteing onions, you must also be mindful of the amount of oil you use. Make sure to use a generous amount of oil, or else they won’t cook properly.
