Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim may feature smaller battery compared to rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup

As the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event approaches next week, leaks and rumors about the Galaxy S25 series are surfacing rapidly. However, the buzz surrounding the Galaxy S25 Slim stands out as particularly intense.

In Short

  • Samsung to unveil four new phones on Jan 22
  • Galaxy S25 Slim could be the slimmest model yet
  • Leaks suggest S25 Slim battery is between 3,000 and 4,000 mAh.

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, scheduled for January 22, is expected to showcase four new smartphones. The lineup will likely include the usual suspects—the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, the highlight could be the Galaxy S25 Slim, rumoured to be the company’s slimmest phone to date.

With just a few days left until the launch event, we have encountered several leaks and rumours about the phones. Earlier this week, we wrote about a report that revealed just how slim the Galaxy S25 Slim would be and another on how much the Galaxy S25 series will cost in India. Another report claims that the Galaxy S25 Slim’s battery capacity will be the smallest in the new lineup.

Digital Chat Station, a well-known source on the Chinese Weibo platform, claims that the Galaxy S25 Slim’s battery capacity will range between 3,000 mAh and 4,000 mAh. The post also claims the phone’s ultra-slim design will likely challenge heat dissipation and battery performance.

That is quite understandable because the S25 Slim is rumoured to measure just 6.4mm. Where is Samsung supposed to fit in a larger battery?

According to the leak, the same will apply to the iPhone 17 Air, rumoured to be even thinner than the Galaxy S25 Slim.

But just how slim?

As mentioned above, a recent report revealed how slim the Galaxy S25 Slim will be. It claims the smartphone’s thickness will be just 6.4mm without the camera module and 8.3mm with it—far thinner than most smartphones’ typical 8mm to 10mm profiles. The Slim stands out even compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which measures 8.2mm thick without its camera bump.

Despite its sleek build, the Galaxy S25 Slim doesn’t compromise on display size, boasting a 6.7 to 6.8-inch screen. Its compact dimensions, reported at 159 x 76 x 6.4mm, make it shorter, narrower, and slimmer than the Ultra, which measures 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2mm.

Design-wise, the Slim aligns with the rest of the Galaxy S25 series, featuring a metal frame, glass back, triple rear cameras, and ultra-thin bezels. The flat frame integrates seamlessly with the volume rockers and power button, while the base includes a USB-C port, speaker grille, and microphone.

The Galaxy S25 Slim surpasses Samsung’s previous slimmest model, the Galaxy A8, which was 4.9mm thick but limited by a 3,050mAh battery. Reports suggest the Slim will incorporate a larger battery, balancing its ultra-thin profile with advanced hardware, making it a blend of style and functionality.
