Renowned spiritual guru Premanand Maharaj expressed his views on same-sex relations when a man sought his guidance and shared that he was attracted to men. The man said that while his family was pushing him to get married, he felt no attraction to women and was instead drawn to men. He sought advice on how to navigate this situation.
In a video shared on social media recently, a man could be heard saying, “My parents are asking me to get married. I am not attracted towards women but men.”
In response to this question, Premanad Maharaj said, “If you are not attracted to women but to men, I sincerely request such individuals not to deceive a woman. Share your feelings openly with your parents. Do not marry and make someone’s life miserable by keeping her in your home.”
Premanand Maharaj further said that the young man expressed hesitation in discussing his feelings with his parents. Addressing this, he said, “You feel ashamed to share your truth with your parents, but you don’t feel ashamed of ruining someone else’s life? Sharing what you feel is not a stain on your dignity or respect.”
Urging parents to be understanding and supportive of their children, he said, “Their nature is created by God. Can you change their behaviour with reprimands or scolding? No. It’s better to support one another and move forward with love and understanding.”
