MAHABUBABAD: As many as 25 monkeys were found dead on the outskirts of Bancharai Thanda in Kuravi village of Mahabubabad district on Sunday.
Villagers found the bodies dumped near an agricultural field. They immediately informed the local police. On learning of the incident, Kuravi forest officials rushed to the spot.
They suspect that the monkeys may have been poisoned.
Kuravi forest divisional officer M Srinivas said forest officers, police and revenue officials were trying to identify the culprits.
A case has been registered, he said.
