Rajasthan Royals vs Gujarat Titans, IPL 2024: Predicted Playing XIs Of Both Teams

Rajasthan Royals will go with an unchanged playing XI side against Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will square off against each other in Match 24 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday. Rajasthan have been on an unbeaten run since the start of the IPL 2024. After winning four consecutive games, RR are leading the IPL 2024 Standings with eight points. Gujarat on the other hand have had a roller coaster ride this year. Out of five games, GT have only managed to win two and suffered three losses. The IPL 2022 champions find themselves in seventh position on the points table.

RR will aim to make it five wins in a row while GT will be eager to return to winning ways.

Let’s look at the predicted playing XI of both teams ahead of this Western Derby.

Rajasthan Royals Predicted XI

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal is expected to open the innings for RR. After an outstanding 2023 season, Jaiswal found it difficult to fire at the top this year. The southpaw has only managed 39 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 144.44.

Jos Buttler

Jos The Boss Buttler announced himself in the IPL 2024 with an unbeaten century against RCB. His match-defining ton handed RR a 6-wicket win at home. The English wicketkeeper batter has scored 135 runs in four matches.

Sanju Samson (captain and wicketkeeper)

RR skipper Sanju Samson has been destructive in IPL 2024. He has scored 178 runs in four matches and will be aiming to compete for the Orange Cap. With two 50-plus scores, Samson is leading RR’s batting from the front.

Riyan Parag

Riyan Parag has scored 185 runs in four matches with an impressive average of 92.50 and a strike rate of 158.11. After a wonderful Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season this year, Parag has carried his purple patch to the IPL 2024.

Dhruv Jurel

Dhruv Jurel will add depth and balance to Rajasthan’s middle-order. He has scored only 42 runs in four matches but his strike rate of 155.55 shows that he is capable of delivering quick-fire knocks for his team sooner rather than later.

Shimron Hetmyer

Shimron Hetmyer will add firepower to the Royals’ blazing batting lineup. His strike rate of 150 is enough proof that he can play a hard-hitting knock when required.

Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin will be an important member of RR’s spin bowling attack in the upcoming game. His all-round abilities provide the Royals with balance in the lower middle order.

Trent Boult

Kiwi speedster Trent Boult will bowl the opening spell for RR. His swing and pace variations can provide the Royals with early breakthroughs. Boult has taken five wickets in four matches and will be eager to topple the GT top order.

Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan would bring a potent mix of pace and skill to RR’s bowling attack. He has only struck twice in four matches but has bowled economically in the slog overs.

Nandre Burger

Nandre Burger’s potential inclusion would add a dynamic bowling option to RR’s lineup. He has taken six wickets in four matches and could prove to be effective against GT.

Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal will bring valuable experience and guile to the Rajasthan Royals’ spin bowling department. He has taken eight wickets in four matches and is two wickets short of the Purple Cap.

Gujarat Titans Predicted XI

Sai Sudarshan

In the absence of the injured Wriddhiman Saha, Sai Sudarshan is expected to open the innings for Gujarat Titans. With 191 runs in five matches, Sudarshan is the second-highest run-scorer in the IPL 2024.

Shubman Gill (captain)

Skipper Shubman Gill will once again lead GT’s batting. He recently played a fiery knock of 89* against PBKS and the 2023 Orange Cap winner will be looking forward to producing a brilliant knock against RR.

Kane Williamson

Kane Williamson had an underwhelming start to his IPL 2024 campaign. He was dismissed early in the last match where he scored just one run. With the T20 WC 2024 around the corner, the 2018 Orange Cap winner will be eager to display his resilient batting form soon.

BR Sharath (wicketkeeper)

BR Sharath is expected to keep for the Gujarat Titans. Sharath played his first game of the season against Lucknow where he scored only two runs. He will be eager to deliver the goods against RR to cement his place in the playing XI squad.

Vijay Shankar

Vijay Shankar’s potential inclusion in GT’s predicted XI would offer the team a versatile batting option. He has not scored many runs this season but Shankar’s all-round abilities could provide balance to his team’s combinations.

Rahul Tewatia

Rahul Tewatia will add depth to GT’s batting and bowling departments. He hasn’t bowled yet this season but has scored 81 runs in four innings. Tewatia’s aggressive batting style, particularly in the later stages of the innings can change the course of the game.

Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan will lead the spin attack for Gujarat against Rajasthan. He has taken five wickets in as many matches this year. Rashid hasn’t been effective with the bat but can add crucial runs too whenever required.

Umesh Yadav

Umesh Yadav will bring a unique edge to Gujarat’s pace-bowling unit. He has taken six wickets in five matches and his swing variation can help GT with early breakthroughs.

Spencer Johnson

Spencer Johnson will play a pivotal role in GT’s pace battery. He has taken three wickets in three games and will be raring to add more scalps to his tally after a dry run in his previous game.

Noor Ahmad

Noor Ahmad will assist Rashid in leading the Titans’ spin attack. He has taken three wickets in as many games and will be a threat to RR’s batters with his ability to turn the ball both ways.

Mohit Sharma

Mohit Sharma will be an important player for GT in the upcoming fixture. He has taken seven wickets in five games and is a top contender for the Purple Cap in the ongoing season.
