New Delhi: A sculpture of Thiruvalluvar, respected a social symbol by Tamils, was initiated in the French town of Cergy on Sunday. State leader Narendra Modi said the sculpture is a “wonderful demonstration of our common social bonds”.
Outside Issues Pastor S Jaishankar said the introduction of the sculpture “carries out” an affirmation given by the top state leader during his visit to Paris for the Bastille day in July.
“The introduction of Thiruvalluvar sculpture in Cergy, France today executes PM @narendramodi’s confirmation given during his visit for the Bastille day,” he said on ‘X’.
“The sculpture will be manual for some to understand Thiruvalluvar’s honorable contemplations and is one more image of our well established social connections, a vital mainstay of India-French fellowship,” Mr Jaishankar said.
India’s emissary to France Jawed Ashraf likewise referenced the initiation of the sculpture in a post on ‘X’.

Answering his post, PM Modi said, “Thiruvalluvar sculpture in Cergy, France is a lovely demonstration of our common social bonds. Thiruvalluvar stands tall as an image of shrewdness and information. His works persuade millions across the world.”
