Watch: Mohammad Amir Called ‘Fixer’ By Pakistan Crowd, Furious Star Turns Back To Say This

In 2010, Mohammad Amir was arrested for spot-fixing and was given a five-year ban for bowling two deliberate no-balls

Pakistan cricket star Mohammad Amir, when he arrived on the scene, was considered one of the best fast-bowling talents that the country has ever seen. The left-arm fast bowler gave ample proof of his talent and soon rose up the ranks. However, an off-field incident put brakes on his career. In 2010, Amir was arrested for spot-fixing and was given a five-year ban for bowling two deliberate no-balls. He even spent three months in prison. Amir made a comeback in 2015 and the next year played for the national team too.

In 2019 he retired from Test cricket and in 2020 retired from other forms of international cricket. However, Mohammad Amir continues to play in franchise cricket leagues. The stain of spot-fixing has not left Amir though. In a recent video, which has gone viral on social media, shows Pakistan crowd referring to Amir ‘fixer’. The Quetta Gladiators star after ignoring the calls, comes back and says, “Ghar se ye seekhke aate ho (do you learn such things from home)?”

Mohammad Amir has so far taken six wickets in seven matches in the Pakistan Super League.

Recently, Amir alleged that the Deputy Commissioner of Multan misbehaved with his family and unjustly ejected them from the stadium during a match. Amir took to social media to level his allegations and even tagged the chief minister of Pakistan’s Punjab province – Maryam Nawaz Sharif – to take action against the official.

‘Shocked by the unacceptable behavior of the Deputy Commissioner of Multan, who reportedly mistreated my family, arrogantly claiming ownership of the ground & unjustly ejecting them during a match. This abuse of power is intolerable! Urging authorities for immediate action,” he wrote on X.

A day later Amir posted an update on the issue.

“I am highly grateful for the chief minister’s @MaryamNSharif attention to my matter and for taking out the precious time to call me. All misunderstanding has been cleared by Deputy Commissioner Multan himself , I sincerely appreciate it and extend my best wishes to you as you embark on your new journey,” he posted.
