Sonam Wangchuk Family and Education

Sonam Wangchuk was born in 1964 to Col. Wangchuk, a local of Khakshal, which is vital for Leh in the Ladakh region of the Indian province of Jammu and Kashmir. His mom is Mr. Thupstan Chhewang’s sister and Kushok Bakula Rinpoche’s niece.

His family moved to Solan, Himachal Pradesh, in 1969 when he was five. Sonam learned at St. Luke’s till the fourth standard. Later, in 1973, his family moved to Dharamshala, where he studied at Sacrosanct Heart Secondary School. In mid-1975, his dad moved to Delhi, India. Sonam is married to Padma Angmo.
