While he labelled Rinku’s omission as “unfortunate”, Agarkar explained that they wanted to play an extra bowler in the team. On missing T20Is for more than a year, Rohit, on the other hand, revealed that he wanted to focus on Test cricket at that time. Agarkar also shed light on KL Rahul’s omission from the squad. He said that Rahul is currently batting at the top and they needed someone who can bat in the middle.
